  • Free masterclass by the Uncertainty Experts, Wednesday 6th May 2026, shares explosive new research exposing the Decisiveness Crisis

  • Findings will include the that 65% of leaders would rather look certain than be right, even knowing it leads to worse outcomes

  • Attendees will walk away knowing how to dismantle false certainty, fast.

  • “When certainty is rewarded more than outcomes, bad decisions become inevitable”, says Giles Smith, CEO at the Mediazoo Group.

Mediazoo’s world class Uncertainty Experts will host a free live masterclass on Wednesday 6th May 2026 sharing new research into leadership behaviour distorting decision making across organisations.

New research from Uncertainty Experts, part of the Mediazoo group, has made several significant findings, including that 65% of professional leaders choose the appearance of decisiveness over a better outcome, even when they know the outcome will be worse.

The findings come from five years of data collection with over 3000 professionals across 25 organisations and remains stable across every sector and geography measured.

The researchers describe the behaviour as the Decisiveness Crisis: not a personality flaw, but an operating system built into the way organisations reward their leaders.

“Two out of every three people in your next leadership meeting would rather look like they know what they’re doing than actually get it right”, says Sam Conniff, Chief Uncertainty Expert at the Mediazoo Group.

The masterclass, hosted by Sam Conniff and Katherine Templar Lewis, co-founders of the Uncertainty Experts, will exclusively reveal:

  • The full Decisiveness Crisis research findings

  • The true cost of the behaviour to UK businesses

  • Where in the organisational structure the crisis concentrates – and why the answer surprises most L&D professionals

  • Three measurable characteristics of the ‘Uncertainty Ready’ leaders who resist the bias

  • Interactive tools and diagnostics to identify those leaders in your organisation

Sam Conniff, co-founder of the Uncertainty Experts, said: “The data has surprised us every time. Not because the finding is new but because it is so consistent. Five years, 25 organisations, every sector we have reached, presents the same pattern

The masterclass is where we show it in full for the first time and give people something practical to do about it.”

Giles Smith, CEO at the Mediazoo Group, said: “Too many organisations reward confidence over competence. This research shows the problem isn’t individual weakness, it’s systematic. If we don’t fix how leaders are rewarded, we’ll keep getting decisive mistakes disguised as certainty.”

Every attendee will exclusively receive the full Decisiveness Crisis report directly to their inbox, before it is available anywhere else.
